Railways are the biggest employer in the entire country. Every year Railways announces many vacancies for Group A, Group B, Group C and Group D categories. The recruitment for Group A and Group B posts are done through Engineering Services Exam and Civil Services. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is responsible for recruitment in Group C posts. The different RRB exams are Railway Recruitment Board, Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB NTPC) exam, Railway Recruitment Board, Assistant Loco Pilot (RRB ALP) exam, Railway Recruitment Board, Junior Engineer (RRB JE) exams.
The RRB NTPC exam is conducted in 15 languages. RRB NTPC examination is conducted for the posts of Junior Clerk cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Goods Guard, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Time Keeper, Traffic Assistant, Trains Clerk, Senior Clerk Cum Typist, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master. Railway Board has made available the RRB admit card (NTPC 2020-21) on its official website.
RRB Admit Card (NTPC CBT I 2020-21) released on December 23rd for the first phase. The Railway Recruitment Board has released the RRB admit card (NTPC) for 35,208 vacancies. RRB Exam (NTPC) is a national level exam. RRB exam date (NTPC) 2020 has been announced. The first stage that is the CBT exam commenced from December 28 and will continue till the last week of March 2021.The RRB exam date for ALP is yet to be announced. RRB exam date for JE is yet to be notified.
The different stages in RRB NTPC exams are 1st stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Computer Based Aptitude Test/Typing Skill Test (as applicable) and Document Verification/Medical Examination. 1st stage CBT will be conducted online, the duration of the test will be 90 minutes. The total marks allotted for this stage is 100. There will be negative marking. This stage of the test will have 100 objective type multiple choice questions, covering mathematics, general awareness, general intelligence and reasoning. In the 2nd stage of CBT, the candidates will be tested with a total of 120 questions, covering a range of topics from mathematics, general awareness, reasoning, and general intelligence. There will be negative marking and the duration of the test will be 90 minutes.
For RRB NTPC examination the General Awareness section will cover questions from current affairs. The maths section will consist of questions from topics such as Time and Distance, Fractions, Ratio and Proportions,Number System, Decimals, Mensuration etc. The Reasoning section will have questions covering topics such as Coding and Decoding, Analytical Reasoning, Mathematical Operations, Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Analogies, Data Sufficiency, Syllogism etc.
RRB Junior Engineer exam is conducted to fill vacancies in the posts of Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA), Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), Junior Engineer (Information Technology). The RRB JE exam is divided into 5 subgroups to define the
al criteria, syllabus and other events.
RRB ALP & Technician exam is conducted in four stages: First Stage CBT, Second Stage CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) and Document Verification. RRB ALP consists of 75 objective type multiple choice questions and the total time given to complete the paper is 60 minutes. RRB ALP second stage exam has part A and part B. Part A consists of 100 questions and Part B consists of 75 questions. The total time allotted for Part A is 90 minutes and time allotted for Part B is 60 minutes.
